In the Ministry of Education’s PGI 2.0 for 2024–25, Himachal scored 659.2 and reached “Prachesta-2”, the second-highest grade attained by any State or UT.
The score rose 85.4 points from 573.8 in 2023–24, moving the State from 13th to 6th nationally (3rd among States). In 2022–23 it stood at 532.8 and 21st.
Strongest domains: Equity 90.5%, Access 86.6%, Teacher Education & Training 80.3%. Learning Outcomes & Quality rose from 54.2 to 117.9, and Infrastructure & Facilities from 97.0 to 110.5.
Governance processes — Aadhaar seeding, digital attendance, internet-enabled processes and PRABANDH monitoring — are the next area of focus.
